Health Cabinet Secretary Dr. Deborah Mlongo Barasa has reassured Kenyans of the government’s commitment to providing accessible healthcare following last week’s Social Health Authority (SHA) rollout.
Speaking on Monday October 7, 2024 during her visit to Nakuru County to assess SHA implementation, she acknowledged initial challenges affecting chronic care patients but confirmed that most issues had been resolved.
“I am pleased to see the rollout progressing well,” Dr. Barasa said after visiting Mzee Kanyore, who had missed his dialysis session but is now receiving treatment under SHA.
The CS also visited Sublime Hospital and Nakuru County Referral Hospital, where she observed patients receiving care under SHA.
She encouraged Kenyans to continue registering for SHA to access affordable healthcare in line with UHC goals.
