On Saturday July 19, 2025, Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika represented President William Ruto at a fundraiser towards construction of prayer Centre in Njoro.
When she stood to address, one aspect came out clear- the parenting issue.
Kihika who enjoined the sermon of the day delivered by PCEA clergy and weighed in on matters parenting.
With the recent happenings in the country that have seen GenZs take to the streets, Kihika used the moment to call on parents to up their responsibility.
Speaking in a motherly tone, Kihika revealed that she also has GenZs in her house and they normally remind her to listen to them.
Kihika called on clergy to also play part in shaping the young generation.
“As parents we are facing this issue of GenZs. I also have them in the house and they always feel we are not listening to them. So as Parents we have a role to talk to our children and shape them in the right direction,” stated Kihika.
A lawyer by profession, Governor Kihika used the moment to revisit the recent demonstrations where she pointed out that she has no issue with demonstrations, but goons who invade and start looting and destroying properties.
She noted that demonstrations are constitutionally allowed as long as the demonstrations are within the confines of the law.
The Governor urged Nakuru residents to also maintain peace stating that Nakuru is a very sensitive county.
