Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has assured that the county government will support the family of the 7 who perished through road accident.
She was speaking on April 16, 2024 when she joined the family, friends, relatives and residents of Karirikania Village in Nyota Ward for the tearful send off of the seven.
Kihika while condoling the family, revealed that she had talked to one of the family members who requested that the county absorbs some members through job opportunities.
While noting that the law requires that she goes through Public Service Board, she will do all she can to ensure the family has 2 children absorbed.
” My sincere prayers to the family of Mr Rukomia for the pain of losing seven family members. I wish the family God’s comfort to bear the unfathomable loss and fortitude for the sorrow. I will consider the request that was made by the family so that atleast 2 children are absorbed,” she stated.
Kihika also used the opportunity to highlight her development agenda.
She urged locals to continue supporting her administration towards making Nakuru better.
The seven family members perished in a road accident on April 1, 2024 while on their way from Easter holidays in Mombasa.
The burial was also attended by Water Cabinet Secretary Zachary Njeru, Nakuru County Deputy Governor David Kones, Area MP, area MCA and over 30 MCAs among other leaders.
