Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has hinted a t a plan to economically empower Motorbike Bodaboda operators in Nakuru County.
Through a special Bodaboda empowerment kitty, Governor Kihika aims at ensuring the sector that has continued to provide employment to many youths, thrives.
According to Kihika, a total of Kshs 30 million will be pumped into the program for the start.
This, she says will enable Bodaboda operators take a loan motorbike of Kshs 95,000 which they will repay between Kshs 150 and Kshs 180 daily.
Kihika noted that the Motorbike Bodaboda empowerment program is key in shaping the livelihoods.
She was quick to point out that the Motorbike Bodaboda operators will only be required to apply with between Kshs 3000 and Kshs 5000 as a way of getting to know those who have interest in the program.
Kihika revealed that the program that is in Pipeline will be launched by President William Ruto.
The Governor called on youth to grab the opportunity that aims to transform lives.
Kihika spoke in Kuresoi North during a consultative meeting between leaders and residents.
