Nakuru Town West MP Samwel Arama has called for fairness in promotion of Police officers.
Speaking on Tuesday during Jukwaa la Usalama Nakuru edition that was attended by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, the Lawmaker pointed out that there has been pack of fairness in the promotions.
According to Arama, the merit promotions have had unfairness with some officers doing great job but with no promotions.
He cited incidents where an OCS did good work in one particular station but he was not lucky to get promotions while those who have not been in service even for long were promoted.
The vocal Lawmaker called on CS Murkomen to make the procedures for promotion of Police officers clear.
According to Arama, there should be no issues of god-father in matters security and promotions.
“I think Bwana CS Murkomen you have to make us understand better the procedural of merit promotions so that we can have fairness in the whole process,” he stated.
Arama also weighed in on the issues of fuel for police patrol vehicles.
He noted that in order to ensure security in all estates in Nakuru, the officers should be facilitated.
