Nakuru County Executive Committee Member for Education, ICT and E-Government Zippy Wambui has revealed the reason why there has been delays in disbursement of tranche 2 of 2025/2026 bursary.
The delays, she says have been caused by delay by Controller of Budget to disburse the funds from the National Government.
Speaking at Menengai Social Hall grounds in Nakuru East Subcounty on Tuesday September 1, 2026, CECM Wambui said the County Government is aware of the challenges that the parents are going through as learners head back to school for third term.
As a county government of Nakuru, we had done all from vetting and even beneficiaries filled the forms, but then the controller of budget has delayed.
She was however quick to call for patience on the side of parents as the matter awaits the Controller of Budget.
Wambui assured parents that once the money is released, the county government of Nakuru will expedite the disbursement of the same to learners who had successfully applied.
“We are aware that the bursary tranche 2 for financial year 2025/2026 has delayed due to the delay by Controller of Budget. On our part we had done all that is required and that is why we are appealing to parents to be patience. But we can assure that once the money is disbursed, we shall go ahead to issue the cheques,” she said.
