Early Child Development Education centres in Nakuru have received a major boost as the County Government of Nakuru launched distribution of instructions materials.
The exercise kicked off on Tuesday September 1, 2026 in Nakuru Town West, Nakuru Town East and Rongai Sub Counties.
An exercise that was launched by County Executive Committee Member for Education, ICT, e-Government & Public Communication Zippy Wambui.
A total 48,379 copies of ECDE instructional materials for PP1 and PP2 will be distributed across the County.
Speaking when she oversaw the exercise for Nakuru Town East and Nakuru Town West Sub counties at Bondeni ECDE, CECM Wambui stated that this is part of the countywide programme set to benefit all 1,073 ECDE Centres.
“This is a significant investment in strengthening early childhood education and supporting our teachers and learners,” she stated.
The CECM lauded the Nakuru County Government under the leadership of Governor Susan Kihika for ensuring improved infrastructure in ECDE Centres, employment of teachers and also equipment.
She also used the moment to rally education stakeholders among them parents and teachers to continue supporting Governor Kihika’s agenda on education with focus on Vocational training Centres and ECDEs.
According to the CECM, already the Lishe na Mama Program has continued to sail through with great testimonials of how the fortified nutritious porridge improving enrollment in the ECDE centres.
On the employment of teachers for ECDE centres, CECM Wambui revealed that the County Government is working to employ more teachers in the centres to ensure the learners ratio to teachers is addressed.
