The County Government of Nakuru will soon launch a program that will see learners in public ECDE centres get free uniforms.
This was revealed by County Executive Committee member for Education ICT and E-Government Zippy Wambui.
Speaking at Menengai Social Hall grounds during distribution of instructional materials and books for ECDE, the CECM stated that the county government is currently conducting public participation for the program.
She said all 67,000 learners in ECDE Centres will get full uniforms from the county government.
According to the CECM, once the public participation exercise is concluded, the program shall be rolled out.
She lauded Governor Susan Kihika for coming up with the program that will help ensure equity in our centres.
“We are currently meeting various stakeholders to get their views. Once that is done then we shall roll out the program,” she said.
