Why Gachagua failed to announce his new Political party on Sunday evening

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua postponed the announcement of his new political party ahead of 2027 elections.

Kenyans had anticipated that Gachagua would announce the new party.

Gachagua has been meeting several delegates at his rural home in Nyeri county.

In media interview with Kikuyu stations among the Inooro, and Kameme on Sunday, Gachagua instead of announcing the new political party stated that it shall be done in May.

He attributed the postponement to strategic reasons.

“FOR strategic reasons I will not announce our new party tonight. We will launch it officially in a colourful ceremony in Nairobi in May this year,” stated Gachagua.

He was however quick to point out the party is ready with good structures, good constitution and bringing onboard Kenyans from all parts of the country.

The former DP added that thousands are eagerly waiting to join and between now and May he and others will be doing the groundwork to ensure it’s a strong national party.
