Ubunifu Sports Academy FC from Barut emerged winners after scoring 3 goals to nil against Madaraka FC in a friendly.
Ubunifu- a team of under 18 emerged winners in a highly pressured game played at Barut Primary on Sunday March 31, 2024 demonstrating the talent prowess on another level.
Speaking after the match, Ubunifu Sports Academy CEO Joab Okello lauded the team of young talents for the game well played.
“Coincidentally our boys emerged winners with 3-0 against Madaraka FC boys.This was a tough and mature game and there is some talent here and only time will tell,” he stated.
According to Okello, the main aim of the project Ubunifu Sports Academy is to help nurture talents at grassroot level.
He pointed out that there has been a gap in identifying and nurturing talents at grassroot, but with Ubunifu Sports Academy in place, then great things will come out of Barut,Nakuru West.
Already a very successful meeting with all the parents of the shortlisted players has been held.
The meeting discussed some future plans in nurturing and growing talents among the players with parents vowing to support the same.
“The meeting exceeded our expectations and we never expected the kind of buy we got from parents.The future looks good and indeed sustainability of every project starts with community involvement and having an open dialogue,” stated Okello.
