President William Ruto on Friday February 23, in Chepkorio, joined the family, friends and the people of Elgeyo Marakwet for the funeral service of marathon champion Kelvin Kiptum.
Ruto eulogized the late Kiptum as someone whose life was that of determination, discipline and focus.
He urged Kenyans to embrace such virtues.
“In his death, our hero Kelvin Kiptum is speaking to us. That it pays to be determined, disciplined and focused,” stated Ruto.
According to the Head of State, Kiptum worked hard to harness his talent.
This made him break barriers both nationally and globally at an early age.
“His achievements at a tender age are inspiration to many people across the world. May his soul Rest In Eternal Peace,” he said.
Other leaders who joined the President in eulogizing the late Kiptum included Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Chief Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, and Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba among others.
