Preparation for the International Youth Week on top gear in Nakuru

Preparations are on top gear for the upcoming International Youth Week in Nakuru County.

Strong focus is on exhibitions showcasing arts, sports, socio-economic empowerment, peace, health and more.

According to County Government of Nakuru, the event will also feature the official commissioning of the Naivasha Empowerment Center by Governor Susan Kihika.

The main exhibitions will be held at the Naivasha Grounds and Egerton University Grounds from August 7th to 12th.

Additionally, youth from several sub-counties (Gilgil, Naivasha, Kuresoi, Molo, Njoro and Rongai) are scheduled to participate, ensuring broad representation and engagement.

County Executive Committee Member for Youth, Sports, Gender and Social Services Josephine Atieno, confirmed the department’s full support for the planning committee, emphasizing the importance of youth participation from all sub-counties to ensure the event’s success.

The meeting was attended by Pastor Alex Maina (Chief Officer, Sports), Alex Mbugua (MCA, Lake View), Josephat Kimemia (Director, Youth), Martin Gicinga and Bernard Wanyonyi Director of Communications (Office of the Governor) county officials, representatives from various organizations and institutions, Elly Ruuri (Project Coordinator, DCA), university leaders and members of Youth Bunge.
