Afraha Stadium will come back to life this weekend as Nakuru County host a thrilling Athletics event on Friday and Saturday (April 4th and 5th, 2025) respectively.
Governor Susan Kihika in a statement via her official social media platforms said this is key as it provides an opportunity for Nakuru residents and sports lovers to witness Kenya’s finest athletes, including Nakuru very own World Champion Faith Kipyegon.
This is in preparation fo the World Athletics Championships.
“I welcome you all to come out in large numbers to cheer our champions and celebrate the return of Afraha Stadium as the home of great sporting moments,” she stated.
It will be recalled that the Stadium was closed in 2021 for renovation to international standards.
