Nakuru Woman Rep Aspirant Asumpta Wangui has raised concerns over what she terms is rampant illicit brew consumption among young people.

Reacting to a recent illicit brew-related death of a youngman in Wanyororo, Wangui termed it heartbreaking for young lives to be lost to illicit brew.

“Nakuru, Wanyororo has lost yet another young soul. A young man from the Jerusalem community, identified as Kim, has reportedly died under circumstances suspected to be linked to the consumption of illicit brew commonly known as “Gathuri-Ngui,” she said.

According to the Woman Rep Aspirant,  what hurts even more is that barely a week has passed since another young person from the same area was laid to rest under similar circumstances.

She has now demanded that it be known where this illicit brew is being manufactured and sold.

That those behind this business that continues to put innocent lives at risk should be brought to light.

“It is time we stopped watching helplessly. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH,” she stated.

Asumpta says she is willing to intervene and help raise this matter until something is done, adding that the young people deserve to live.

She send her heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and the entire Jerusalem community
