
Residents of Nakuru county have been urged to embrace tree planting during this rainy season.

The call was made on Thursday at Nakuru Primary School during a tree planting exercise organized by Machanga Eco Thinkers Group in partnership with County Government of Nakuru, Madini Purified Drinking Water, Reproductive Health Champion Organization (RHCO) and Lake Nakuru National Park.
Kivumbini Ward MCA Neto Sakwa who delivered his message through his Personal Assistant Charles Okumu lauded the initiative towards schools’ greening.
The MCA called on all other environmental groups to emulate such gesture in conservation of environment for a better future.
Sentiments echoed by his Biashara Ward counterpart Fadhili Msuri who urged the climate change committees at Ward level to play key in matters environment.
According to Fadhili, this will also boost the government agenda on tree cover in the country.

On his part RHCO Executive Director Martin Lunalo called for the need for all the organizations of goodwill to join hands in the greening initiative in schools.
He pointed out that children can be great environment conservation ambassadors if shown the way towards the same at early age.
The event was also graced by Ms Jerina Nyaga ( In-charge L. Nakuru Park ), Madam Agnes Wakesho (PHO), Mr. Ephraim Nginya ( Environment Department) and Mr. Amadi Kahero ( Governor mashinani rep).
