Former Secretary General Kenya Civil Servants Union Dr. Isaac Newton Kinity has commended Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah for the continued struggle to save Kenyans from impunity.
In a press release dubbed Talk and walk the Talk, congratulations Sen.Omtatah, Dr Kinity said the Senator has been key in ensuring transparent and accountable leadership.
He was however quick to point out that the courts will not allow anyone to carry any other person’s cross.
He was responding to a case in which Omtatah and others have sued retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and President William Ruto over accumulative debt of sh 13 trillion debt facing Kenya.
According to Kinity, the responsibilities should have been split accordingly in relation to the debts to avoid confusion in court.
“While I congratulate Okia, Omtata, for his tireless efforts to help Kenyans, I am convinced that the court will not allow anyone to carry any other persons cross. Therefore, the responsibilities should have been split accordingly in relation to the debts to avoid confusion in court,” he said.
He added that he is sure Uhuru Kenyatta will not accept any responsibility for any loans that were borrowed after 2022.
Similarly, William Ruto will not accept responsibility for any debts incurred after the handshake in 2018.
Kinity argues that the total money borrowed during Uhuru Kenyattas tenure of office for ten years was Kshs. 6.7 trillion.
The money borrowed by Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto together was borrowed between 2013 and 2018 before the handshake.
After the handshake, Dr Kinity says William Ruto was not involved in the running of the government.
According to him, Uhuru Kenyatta and may be Raila Amolo Odinga may be responsible for any money borrowed between 2018 and 2022.
He further states that from 2022 to 2024, William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua should be responsible for all the loans borrowed.
“From 2024, after the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua to this day, William Ruto and Kithure Kindiki should be held responsible for all the loans borrowed. By splitting the debts accordingly, it would make it easy for each and every one of them to account for each and every loan they received and explain how the loan was used,” said Kinity.
That means. William Ruto will not be responsible for the half of Uhuru Kenyattas presidency, and similarly, Uhuru Kenyatta will not at all be responsible for either the Kibakis debt of Kshs. 1.89 trillion and also the difference between Kshs. 8.59 trillion (both Kibaki and Uhurus debts) and the Kshs. 13.1 trillion, which is Kshs. 4.69 trillion.
The difference, Kinity says belongs to William Ruto and his new team alone, but he is also responsible together with Uhuru Kenyatta for all the loans borrowed during the first Uhuru/Ruto presidential term between 2013 to 2018.
