Nakuru residents now demand the return of their Governor from USA

A section of Nakuru residents are now demanding the return of their Governor home.

Governor Susan Kihika has been a way on maternity leave since January.

In a memo, the Governor through Chief of staff Dr. Peter Ketyenya had indicated that use was on maternity leave and that the Deputy Governor was now in charge.

However a section of residents petitioned the county Assembly last week.

In a quick turn of events, the residents are now demanding that the Governor comes home.

In a letter dated March 25, 2025, the residents have written to US President Donald Trump making the request through the US Embassy in Kenya.

The Letter is undersigned by Eng Kimori Evans of the Kimori Foundation and carbon copied to President William Ruto.

In the letter, Eng Kimori argues that the continued absence of Governor Kihika is a violation of the rights of the citizens in terms of service delivery.

According to the letter, the maternity leave for civil servants should be 90 days, hence the Governor should be back in Nakuru to resume her duties.

The residents now demand that US Government facilitates her back to Kenya.
