Nakuru County teams displayed exceptional performances at the ongoing Kenya Inter-County Sports Association (KICOSCA) tournament held at St. Peter’s Mumias Boys High School and Booker Academy Grounds.
Nakuru County football team delivered a resounding victory in their opening match, defeating Baringo County 8-0.
Kevin Ochieng was the star of the match, netting four goals and emerging as the tournament’s top scorer so far.
In other sports, the Table Tennis team triumphed with wins against Kitui and Migori counties.
The Volleyball team showcased resilience with a thrilling 3-0 victory over Narok County.
Meanwhile, the Pool team successfully qualified for the knockout stages and the Ajua team outclassed Bungoma County with a convincing 44-18 win.
County Executive Committee Member for Youth, Sports, Gender and Social Services Josephine Atieno, commended the teams for their stellar performances.
She encouraged the players to remain focused and continue striving for excellence throughout the competition.
Nakuru County’s dominance in the opening matches has set a strong tone for the rest of the tournament.
