Mental health issues remain a challenge in the society.
However, for residents of Bahati Constituency who might be going through such a challenge, there is good news as area MP Irene Njoki has hinted at a program that will see the lot assisted.
Speaking in her constituency on Monday March 25, 2024, Njoki said she looks forward to partnering with second Lady Pastor Dorcas Rigathi so that those facing mental health issues can be assisted.
This, she said will be through counseling sessions and rehabilitation.
“Issues of mental health have been on the rise and we need to help address the same. As a leader and a mother I take up the matter to see if we can partner with Pastor Dorcas Rigathi so that we can do counseling and save our young people and families,” said Njoki.
The Lawmaker also called on parents to be close to their children especially the youth to understand what they are going through so that they can be assisted.
It should be noted that Second Lady Pastor Dorcas Rigathi has shown unwavering dedication and commitment in fighting the growing menace of drugs and substance abuse which many a times have led to depression and mental health issues among young people.
Pastor Dorcas has become a beacon of hope, providing guidance, mentorship, and a safe space for these vulnerable young individuals.
Through her teachings and counseling, she has instilled a sense of self-worth, resilience, and determination in the youth, empowering them to break free from the chains of substance abuse and pursue a brighter future.
