MP Njoki elected Vice Chair Public Debt and Privatization Committee

Bahati MP Irene Njoki has been elected Vice Chair Public Debt and Privatization Committee in Parliament.

Hon. Abdi Shurie (Balambala), retained his seat as the Chairperson of the Public Debt and Privatization Committee.

Hon. Shurie who has been serving the Committee since the beginning of the 13th Parliament was elected unopposed.

Hon. Irene Mrembo (Bahati) was elected unopposed for the Vice-chairperson seat.

In his appreciation remarks, the Balambala Legislator thanked Members of the Committee for their continued support, assuring them of his continued dedication to ensure that the committee would remain dedicated to ensuring the National Assembly undertakes oversight of the public debt stock and ensure efficiency of the use of borrowed resources to spur economic development of the Country.

Members of the Committee welcomed the newly constituted leadership assuring them of their support.

On her part MP Njoki stated, “I am humbly honored to be elected Vice Chair of the Public Debt and Privatization Committee in Parliament.”

She added that she sincerely appreciated the trust placed in her and committed to serving with integrity, transparency, and dedication to safeguarding nation’s economic future.
