Nakuru Town West MP Samwel Arama on Wednesday March 19, 2025 called on the Ministry of Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen to expedite operationalization of the new Administrative Units that were gazetted.
Speaking during an event at Shabab Social Hall grounds in Nakuru West Sub County, the MP took the bull by the horns and made the bold request to the CS who was the Chief Guest.
According to MP Arama, a number of new Administrative Units were established in Nakuru West Subcounty, gazetted but they are not operational.
The third term serving Lawmaker told the CS that delays in operationalization of the same has continued to derail service delivery to the constituents who have to seek services some distance.
“We have around three new Administrative Units gazetted in Nakuru West but they are not operational. CS kindly if you can help through resource allocation so that we can have administrative officers in this units to help serve our people we shall be grateful,” stated Arama.
Sentiments echoed by Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria who noted that a similar scenario in his Constituency.
The duo also called on the Ministry of Interior to work closely with communities in Nakuru in ensuring cohesiveness.
They noted that Nakuru is a cosmopolitan County that should safeguard the interests of all communities.
In a quick rejoinder, CS Murkomen assured the Lawmakers that their plea has been taken into consideration.
According to Murkomen, a meeting shall be held next week to iron out a few issues that will see the new Administrative Units that were gazetted now operational.
Murkomen also used the moment to call on Nakuru leaders not to tolerate divisive politics that might plunge the county and country into an unwelcoming atmosphere.
