Nakuru Town West MP Samwel Arama has assured pioneer members of the Jua Kali Sector that he will consult in finding amicable solution over controversial parcel of land in London Ward.
The MP spoke on Monday June 9, when he held meeting with a section of the Jua Kali Sector members at NG-CDF office at Githima, in Shabab Ward.
The said 13-acre parcel of land has had conflicts over ownership.
The Chairman Jua Kali Sector Peter Njoroge informed the MP that in 1985 they were given that parcel of land by late retired President Daniel Moi.
He was however quick to point out that the land has had conflicts over ownership of the parcel of land between members and Kibingor Self Help group.
This saw a court battle that determination will be made by end of July.
Addressing the members, MP Arama assured that with consultations with county government of Nakuru through Governor Susan Kihika, there will be amicable solution on the issue of the ownership of the land.
He added that, he will be raising the matter with the President during a meeting scheduled for Wednesday.
Arama was categorical that matters of land grabbing have no room in Nakuru adding that he will do all that pertains him as a leader to ensure justice is served to the Jua Kali Sector.
He also urged members of the sector to avert division among themselves.
“I will have a meeting with all the Jua Kali Sector members so that we can get to the Bottom line of this issue around the parcel of land,” he said.
The meeting was also attended by MCA Gatuso of London Ward, Francis Njoroge from Governor Susan Kihika’s Political Affairs Office and DCC Nakuru West among others.
