Learning to resume at Moi University following Return-to-Work Formula Agreement

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba and PS Higher Education and Research Dr. Beatrice Inyangala on Saturday November 30, 2024 witnessed oversaw the signing of the Return-to-Work Formula agreement between Moi University and the staff unions – UASU and KUSU.

The signing of the Return-to-Work Formula marks the end of a month long strike that had paralysed operations and learning at the University.

CS Ogamba thanked the staff unions for their willingness to address their grievances through dialogue and affirmed the Government’s commitment to address their concerns.

CS also thanked students for their patience as the Government worked to resolve the stalemate, assuring them that the Academic Calendar will be revised to recover the lost time.

CS Ogamba also noted that the crisis at Moi University is a wake up call to all public universities to reposition themselves towards greater sustainability.

He urged University Managers to embrace transparency and accountability since their decisions will impact future generations.
