Kihika assures transport sector of her total support as she commissions newly renovated Shabaab, main stages

Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has once again reiterated her commitment towards supporting transport sector.

Kihika noted that the sector is key in growth of the county economy.

She was speaking on Tuesday August 27, 2024 when she commissioned the newly renovated Shabaab and Main Bus stages.

“I have today commissioned the newly renovated Shabaab and Main Bus stages. This is in line with my commitment to support the public transport sector,” she stated.

According to Kihika, this will go a long way in ensuring all stakeholders enjoy a seamless experience into and out of Nakuru City CBD.

She noted that the matatu sector employs thousands of people directly and indirectly contributing to a vibrant city and booming businesses for residents.

It is for this reason that Governor Kihika assured that her Administration shall fully support the sector as well as other sectors in boosting the economy.

“We shall continue supporting this and other business sectors within the city while also ensuring we provide an environment conducive to business and economic growth,” she said.

The commissioning was also attended by Deputy Governor David Kones, Biashara Ward MCA Fadhili Msuri, Malewa West MCA Francis Mungai, City Board Chairman Stephen Muli and county staff.
