The phase 2 Keringet Stadium project has kicked off following the ground breaking and handing over of the site to contractor, in an event that was graced buy athletes from Keringet Ward in Kuresoi South.
The Keringet High-Altitude Stadium’s second phase will entail the construction of hostels, dining facilities, kitchen, and a shed.
Once completed, the multi-million will benefit athletes and residents, fostering improved training facilities and business opportunities.
County Chief Officer for Youth, Sports, Talent and Resource Mobilization Pastor Alex Maina has lauded the project saying it will go along way in not only enhancing sports at grassroot level but also improving livelihoods.
Speaking during the the site handover, Maina urged the contractor asinged to stick to the timelines.
According to him, the project should be complete by late May, 2024.
The contractor was also urged to ensure locals in the area benefit from the casual jobs during the project.
The CO reiterated Governor Susan Kihika’s commitment to complete all projects that were stalled.
It will be recalled, when she took over the mantle of Leadership, Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika vowed to complete all stalled projects that were started by her predecessor before starting new ones.
Kihika noted that this is the only way to ensure tax payer’s money is well utilized.
