The controversy around the ownership of a 21-Acre Prime Parcel of Land in London Ward might soon come to an end.
This follows the interventions by area MP Samwel Arama and Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika.
The duo have been on the move to find a lasting solution into the matter that for many years has seen the pioneer Jua Kali Sector members suffer.
After the members raised the concern, MP Arama together with Francis Njoroge from Governor Susan Kihika’s political Affairs Office have convened several meetings to try and find out the solution.
On Monday, the MP in company of Njoroge and London MCA Bernard Gatuso together with members of the Jua Kali Sector visited the said Land in London Ward.
Members were surprised that maize has been planted on the 21-acre piece that sits next to AIC Church and the Gioto dump site.
It emerged that the maize belong to some officers of the Nakuru GK Prison.
An issue that prompted MP Arama to make a phonecall to the facility and he was informed that indeed the maize belongs to some officers but they are not part of the ownership controversy.
By the end of the visit of the parcel of land, the MP made a communication to the members of the Jua Kali Sector that in one accord the maize will be slashed down in two weeks time, fencing to take place and then the Jua Kali Sector members will have shades erected for the garage operations.
Arama assured the members that his good working relationship with Governor Kihika and President William Ruto will see their welfare addressed.
According to their Chairman Peter Njoroge, the parcel of land was given to pioneer members of the Jua Kali Sector in 1985 by the late retired President Daniel Moi.
However, some greedy individuals came up and created controversy over ownership with wrangles here and there.
However, the pioneer members of the Jua Kali Sector believe that they are the real owners of the parcel of Land.
