Governor Kihika directs Education Department to promptly disburse bursary cheques to deserving students

The Nakuru County Department of Education has been directed to expedite the process of bursary cheques disbursement to needy students.

This follows the heavy down pour and the aftermath effects that has rendered many parents vulnerable.

Many livelihoods have been affected and parents are struggling to meet the needs of their children.

Speaking in Waseges, Subukia sub county on Tuesday May 14, 2024 during distribution of emergency relief food to over 100 families that were affected by flash floods, Governor Susan Kihika revealed that she has directed the Education Department to do so.

She said this, will ensure no learner will miss school due to the effects of the floods on families’ livelihoods.

“I have instructed the Department of Education to promptly disburse bursary cheques to deserving students,” she stated.
