Samson Omwanza Ombati was on Tuesday May 14, 2024 sworn in as a Commissioner Judicial Service Commission.
The event held at Supreme Court was presided over by Chief Justice Martha Koome.
According to CJ Koome, Ombati joins other JSC Commissioners in collective pursuit of the imperatives of securing the independence and accountability of the Judiciary as envisaged in Article 172 of the Constitution.
The primary role of the JSC is to facilitate the right to access justice as outlined in Article 48 of the Constitution, which is the overarching mission of the Judiciary.
“I am certain Commissioner Ombati will be a valuable team-player in JSC as we work towards realization of our constitutional mandate,” stated Koome.
The CJ also used the moment to express her gratitude to outgoing male representative of the LSK and Vice Chairperson of the JSC, Commissioner Macharia Njeru.
“I wish to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the outgoing male representative of the LSK and Vice Chairperson of the JSC, Commissioner Macharia Njeru, for the hard work and dedication during his tenure,” she said.
Koome termed Njeru as having been a central player in the major transformative milestones witnessed in the JSC and Judiciary.
