First Lady Rachael Ruto has lauded the contribution of the Church in Kenya towards nation-building.
She said Church in Kenya has been playing a significant role in nation-building, serving as a beacon of hope in society through various projects, including schools, hospitals, and various community programs.W
She was speaking when joined elected leaders, clergy, industry representatives, and community leaders at the 10th Annual Nyeri County Prayer Breakfast.
This longstanding tradition, upheld for a decade now, is a collaboration between the Nyeri Ecumenical Council of Bishops, the County Government of Nyeri, elected leaders, and the private sector.
The prayer breakfast provided a remarkable opportunity for individuals from diverse interdenominational backgrounds to unite with a common purpose: seeking God’s guidance and blessings for Nyeri County and our nation.
The First Lady noted that the church can further collaborate with the Government to educate Kenyans about the opportunities presented by the Government’s numerous development programs.
She encouraged religious leaders to embrace formation of groups for women and youth in the church so that they can benefit from the same.
