In a press address on Monday April 7, 2025 Kimori pointed out key issues that he says are the basis for his demand.

According to Kimori, Nakuru County deserve transparent, responsive and accountable leaders.
The issues he pointed out include;
1.The continued closure of Nakuru War     Memorial Hospital
2.The mysterious missing of a child’s body      at Nakuru morgue
3.The frequent arrests and harassment of      young people by the Kenya Wildlife     Service without any response from the county government
4.The Governor’s failure to officially communicate her continued absence beyond the required maternity leave as per the Labour Laws.

Kimori who issued the presser while flanked by Gen zs , expressed disappointment in the County Assembly of Nakuru for failing to play their oversight.

He noted that a petition to the County Assembly of Nakuru on March 20, 2025 demanded the Assembly to sermon Governor or representative to explain the prolonged maternity leave.
The Assembly which was to also interrogate whether there was lawful transfer of powers never did so.
“To date, the County Assembly has failed to act on this petition. This is a direct violation of their constitutional mandate,” he stated.
He added that instead of MCAs exercising oversight, they have chosen to join hands with executive, abandoning their duty to hold the County Government accountable leaving Nakuru residents in a confused situation.
Kimori argues that these are the reasons as to why the citizens are now demanding the suspension of the County Government.
The signatures collection exercise he says will be done within two months through citizens’ barazas.

He maintained that this has nothing to do with politics, but accountability.

“This is not politics. This is justice for the people of Nakuru. We will not watch as a few individuals continue to hold our county hostage, while lives are lost, youth are criminalized and our great hospital remain closed,” he stated.

A letter seen by this writer addressed to IEBC and received on April 7, 2025 is seeking guidance on the start of the lawful process of collecting signatures to initiate a county suspension under Article 192(b) of the Constitution of Kenya.

Once through with the signatures, Kimori revealed that they will proceed and write to President William Ruto to suspend the County Government of Nakuru, then  proceed to elections within 90 days.
It will be recalled some weeks ago during the launch of County Drilling Rig, Nakuru Deputy Governor David Kones maintained that there was no power vacuum and that all the county departments were operational despite Governor Susan Kihika’s absence.
The DG reiterated that Governor Kihika just like any other female civil servant has a right to maternity leave that she is in right now.
