Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and MSME Development Wycliffe Oparanya has urged MSMEs in Nakuru to adopt modern technology to boost growth.
Speaking in Nakuru on Friday September 11, 2026 during the 7th Edition of the MSMEs Connect forum hosted at the Agricultural Training Centre (ATC) Soilo the CS reiterated the importance of MSMEs in matters economic growth.
He added that in adopting modern technology, the MSMEs will see enhanced operational efficiency, access new markets, and safeguard long term competitiveness in an increasingly digital economy.
The CS also used the moment to urge local business operators to take concrete steps toward integrating digital solutions into their operations to secure sustainable revenue growth.
The event was also graced by Nakuru Deputy Governor David Kones who represented Governor Susan Kihika.
In his address, , DG Kones reaffirmed the County Government’s commitment to creating an enabling ecosystem for small enterprises through accessible capital and capacity building programs.
Kones highlighted county-led financial interventions aimed at removing barriers to enterprise development including the Disbursement of over Ksh 60 million to 19 organized cooperatives.
Additionally, the County Government is rolling out the Ksh 30 million Boda Boda Wezesha revolving Fund with sensitization currently ongoing to ensure that boda boda operators are well informed and prepared to benefit from this initiative.
