It was pomp, joy and color as Nakuru’s upcoming Gospel artist Ms Joy Munabo from Greenview Estate(Manyani), Kivumbini Ward in Nakuru Town East Constituency launched her first music album.
The ‘Anabariki’ album was launch in Nakuru’s ACK within Greenview Estate on Sunday August 16, 2026.
Speaking during and interview with famousnakuru.co.ke, Joy who was born in Nakuru revealed that her journey in music commenced way back when she was in Primary School.
At one particular time she wrote a song, but unfortunately she misplaced the book that she had written in.
She admits the challenges she faced in life, and Community moreso during High school when her Ministry was under strong attack that saw her miss school for almost a term due to illness.
But this did not deter her from the mission and dream she had of releasing an album or more albums.
As the history of 2026 shall be written, she will be among gospel artists who launched an album(the first one).
“I am grateful that I am launching this album today. These four songs are my testimony of what God can do as long as you trust upon Him,” she said.
The youthful Joy added that she wrote ‘Anabariki Sure’ – one of the songs in the Album just as a poem before production through support from friends, Church and family members.
The Album has other three songs ‘Heshima yangu Baba, Ushuhuda and Lakini Baba whichbare now available on YouTube @Joy Munabo.
According to her, this is just but the beginning of more to come through her Ministry, as she says she has a future plan to launch more albums and have a production studio where she can mentor other artists.
She urges upcoming artist never to give up, remain focused and trust upon God.
“I have more than 50 songs that I look forward to recording them. I also have a dream that one time I will have my own production studio so that I can support other upcoming artists,” she said.
Joy’s parents Mr and Mrs Joseph Munabo could not hide their joy on the occasion.
They lauded everyone who has walked with their daughter throughout the journey.
The was also graced by other gospel artists among them Rehema Imara, Haron Saileny, Zipporah Njambi and Samuel Yanai among others, who called for the need to support local artists.
Rehema Imara noted that unity among gospel artists remains key in the spread of gospel and ensure full evangelism.
“Our being here to stand with one of us communicates that we are united and ready to support each other,” she said.
She added that local artists should not look down upon themselves, but work towards achieving their dreams.
Sentiments echoed by another gospel artist Zipporah Njambi who reiterated the importance of unity among gospel artists.
On his part Samuel Yanai pointed out that Nakuru has potential and great talents which should be supported.
He urged all artists to embrace unity and be there for each other in all aspects.
“Gospel artists have a role to play in matters evangelism and should be encouraged and supported,” he stated.
Haron Saileny- an artist from Narok on his part noted that upcoming artists have continued to face financial challenges, but should not give until they achieve their dreams.
The event was also graced by Kivumbini Ward MCA Neto Sakwa in company of Opinion leaders Martin Lunalo and Patrick Tsimango.
They vowed to support upcoming artists in Kivumbini Ward.
