Nakuru Town West DCP MP aspirant Robinas Makana has fired back strongly at MP Samuel Arama for poping nose into DCP affairs.
This follows the recent incident where DCP Leader Rigathi Gachagua’s convoy was pelted stones by goon.
Addressing Press in Nakuru West on Tuesday August 18, 2026, Makana who has maintained that he will oust Arama come 2027, states that Arama has lost it by forgetting that Kenya is a democratic nation.
Makana pointed out that the sitting MP has, through his recent remarks seemingly confirmed his connection to the acts of hooliganism witnessed on Friday during the visit by DCP Leader.
According to Makana, it’s so disturbing that Arama in his apparent decision congratulated those involved and issued threats suggesting that similar acts may happen again.
He added that the sitting MP should protect all communities living in the cosmopolitan Constituency rather than intimidating them.
“It is important to remind him that Nakuru Town West is a cosmopolitan Constituency where people from diverse communities and political backgrounds live, work and exercise their democratic rights. As its elected MP he has responsibility to protect and respect that diversity not to promote intimidation or political intolerance,” stated Makana.
While reminding the Lawmaker that the Society is democratic, Makana called on Arama to avert dictatorship and embrace democracy which he personally is a beneficiary as an elected MP.
On matters freedom of expression, Makana stated that the Constitution is very clear on the same as per Article 33.
“No leader has the right to silence, intimidate or dictate how citizens should peacefully express their views, provided they remain within the law. Arama should not mistake political power for a license to use goons to intimidate those with divergent views,” he said.
Makana was categorical that leadership is a responsibility and not a license to suppress political expression, adding that they will as DCP continue to exercise their democratic rights peacefully, firmly and within the Law.
The political leader called on Nakuru Town West residents to maintain peace, remain watchful and make the right decisions come 2027 that will bring about change in Nakuru Town West Leadership.
He at the same time called on all DCP aspirants in Nakuru County to plan for a mega roadshow in Nakuru Town West so that they can make a declaration.
