Wakabura: Government needs to adopt robust support, resources towards implementation of CBC

Nakuru-based businessman and philanthropist Maina Wakabura has called on government to adopt a more robust, resources towards Implementation of Competence Based Curriculum(CBC).

Wakabura argues that the implementation of CBC adds to the historical challenge of infrastructure gaps besides shortage of Teachers in the Education system.

He says majority of parents in Public Schools are struggling with the costs associated with the practical aspect of the implementation.

The businesswoman who has ambitions for the Nakuru Town East Parliamentary seat, says the government needs to have a strong Monitoring and Evaluation.l system on the same.

This, he says will help in decision making at the Ministry.

“It also seems like the Education sector has a near-dead Monitoring and Evaluation system that is not effective and efficient. Decisions are mostly based on what the Political class has under their sleeves,” he stated.

In a statement to Newsrooms on Wednesday August 7, 2024, Wakabura stated that Technology integration and capacity building within the sector are not rightly communicated to the stakeholders making it difficult to mainstream the same across the public and private sector players.

He called on the Government to adopt robust curriculum support and resources in Public Institutions to make CBC implementation seamless.

He added that there is need for Government to conduct public awareness on the role of CBC when successfully implemented.

Wakabura has been working closely with community through various charity works.

He believes in a transformed society that can be able to take care of her needs.
