Towards Road safety: County commences essential marking of roads

The county government of Nakuru has commenced essential marking of roads to enhance safety especially for school going children who frequently used the roads.

The initiative is being carried out by the Nakuru County Transport and safety committee.

Already the General Kariba Road in freehold estate has been marked enhancing security for school children from nearby schools who frequently use the road.

In addition, the Committee has also worked on DK Kanyi Road in section 58.

“The Nakuru County Transport and Safety Committee has completed a road marking exercise along DK Kanyi Road in Section 58,” stated a statement from the county communication unit.

According to the County Government of Nakuru, this initiative aims to significantly enhance road safety, particularly for students from Crater Primary School who regularly cross this busy road.

The painted pedestrian crossings will provide a safer environment for students and pedestrians, offering clear visual guidance to drivers and ensuring that vehicles slow down as they approach the area.

The County Government reiterated that the primary goal of the road marking exercise is to reduce the risk of accidents and make crossing the road safer for children.

This initiative reflects the county’s commitment to implementing effective measures that prioritize the well-being of its residents, particularly vulnerable groups such as children.

This project is part of Governor Susan Kihika’s broader agenda to enhance road safety across Nakuru County.
