Not all Police Service is bad, for we have great officers doing good job in the service.
This is depicted by the acts of one officer Francis Dumboi of Kaptembwa Police Station.
Many will recall a Nakuru man who was captured on video chasing a police officer.
The officer involved in the scuffle is none other than Francis Dumboi who not only displayed professionalism but he demonstrated is possible to restrain yourself from degrees of pressure.
According to National Police Service as the conditions of the scene the officer was justified to use his firearm and neutralise the man who was armed with a panga endangering life, but he didn’t even fire single shot, rather he ensured he used his tactics and wisdom and arrested the man and placed him in custody and later he was charged in courts.
The same officer has a great record while serving at Elementaita Police station.
On April 24th 2023, Pc Francis was at the report office of Elementaita Police Station when he received a distress call from a member of the public who informed him that there was a baby crying in a pit latrine.
Since he had just handed the report office duties, he immediately rushed at the scene.
Upon arriving he established that it was a newborn who had been thrown inside immediately after birth 10hrs earlier.
With the help of other officers they dismantled the latrine, he got into the deep pit latrine ,rescued the foetus, offered her first Aid, cleaned her with some warm water and hurriedly took the bouncing baby girl to hospital for further examinations.
This is a reason enough to appreciate officers who do great things in society.
