Sombre mood engulfed Kiungani-Nabiswa village in Trans Nzoia county on April 21,2024 as Retired Police Commissioner Joshua Omukata who once served in Nakuru was laid to rest.
Leaders who attended the burial included Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya and Bungoma Deputy Governor Janepher Mbatiany.
The leaders called on locals to emulate the good sevantship that the late showed when he was alive.
They reiterated calls for unity among political leaders.
“As leaders from Western Kenya, I beseech you to embrace unity as opposed to the ongoing infighting which taints the reputation of our region. Lets practice political tolerance and address our leaders with decorum,” said Mbatiany.
Mbatiany described the late Joshua Omukata as an outstanding and polished civil servant whose hard work saw him rise to the rank of the Commissioner of Police.
The late Joshua Omukata is the father to PC Luther Omukata-a staff at the County Government of Bungoma among others.
Governor George Natembeya on his part wished the family God’s strength during the dark moment.
Omukata succumbed due to lung cancer at Tophill Hospital in Eldoret on Sunday April 7, 2024.
