Seasoned Nakuru MCA Peter Palang’a has called for the need to revamp ODM party at grassroot level.
MCA Palang’a who is currently serving Olkaria Ward residents and has been a Life Member of ODM for over 20 years, recalled them days when the party had several elected leaders in Nakuru.
He regretted that currently the party has only two elective seats, Olkaria and Kaptembwa Wards.
He called on newly elected officials and the party members to go back to drawing board and ensure that the party is strengthened.
According to him, the ODM in Nakuru is different from ODM in Nairobi or Nyanza.
Palang’a noted that there is need for the Party leadership in Nakuru to up and address the challenges of Nakuru and ensure that the party is revamped and revived.
He pointed out that a unaggressive grassroot leadership is to blame for the challenge sThe party has been going through.
“We need to revamp this party and help address the challenges facing ODM at grassroot,” he stated.
The MCA revisited an issue like failure to pay agents during general polls adding that such should be addressed to restore confidence and trust in the party.
He was speaking during ODM Nakuru County grassroot elections held at Gilgil Stadium on Monday August 25, 2025.
During the exercise Peter Palang’a(MCA Olkaria) was elected unopposed as Vice Chair to deputize Bernard Miruka.
