Residents of Barnabas in Nakuru Town East Constituency have petitioned government over increased insecurity in the area.
In the Open Petition Letter to the County Commissioner, Nakuru Dr Loyford Kibaara and copied to various security apparatus, the residents urgent appeal for Security Intervention in Barnabas Town, Nakuru East Sub County and other parts of Gilgil Sub County.
“We, the residents of Barnabas Town, Nakuru East Sub County, Nakuru County, and Pakawa in Gilgil Sub county urgently request your intervention to address the escalating insecurity in our area,” they stated.
According to them, thugs have taken over our streets, attacking residents late at night and early in the morning, creating a climate of fear.
The locals now demand a public baraza at Barnabas Town to discuss concrete measures to restore safety.
“A joint meeting between Pakawa police post and Mwariki police station is crucial to devise a strategy for patrolling the area and eliminating these criminals,” they stated.
Led by Mr. Maina Nyaituga, they called for Enhanced security patrols in Barnabas Town, especially during late night and early morning hours.
They further call for increased police presence at Pakawa police post as well as
community policing initiatives to engage residents in security efforts.
In addition, the locals are also calling for a swift action against identified thugs and criminals.
“We urge swift action to restore peace and security in Barnabas Town,” they stated.
