It is rare for electorates to gift or even appreciate their leaders, however a section of Bodaboda operators in Nakuru Town West have shown a rare gesture.
The team from City Stage in Nakuru Town West visited their Lawmaker Samuel Arama at his residential home in London Ward, Nakuru West.
The lot surprised the Lawmaker by visiting with gifts.
While introducing the team before MP Arama who was accompanied by his wife, Arama’s PA John Koech stated that the team had come just to appreciate the MP for standing with them when they had issues at the stage.
Koech went ahead to reveal that the team had brought a goat and other items to gift the Legislator whom they termed a man of the people.
“Hawa wamekuja na waneletea Muheshimiwa Arama mbuzi achinje akule na akunywe supu. Wanashukuru tu kwa sababu MP aliwasaidia,” stated Koech.
The PA once again assured that the team had vowed to support Arama for the fourth term.
Sentiments echoed by their Chairman Mr Moses who stated that they will consolidate votes in support of MP Arama towards his re-election in 2027.
He added that MP Arama intervened at a time when some individuals wanted to take away the City stage from them.
In addition, the Lawmaker came to their aid when one of them died and they had no means of travelling.
“MP Arama has been of help to us as members of the stage in terms of welfare and even security and that is why we decided to come and gift him,” stated Chairman.
Speaking after receiving the gifts, Arama lauded the group and assured them of his continued support moving forward.
He termed the gesture as a good sign of respect for leaders who deliver services to the electorates.
“I am very humbled by this gesture. I know these are people who are not getting good money but they are committed to working hard,” he stated.
Sentiments echoed by Mrs Arama who thanked the team stating that her house is open for all visitors.
She urged the young people in Nakuru Town West to continue supporting MP Arama’s agenda of transforming Nakuru Town West.
“When you support our MP like you are doing then he gets encouraged and strengthened to do even more development,” she stated.
