Over 400 Bodaboda riders in Turi, Molo Subcounty have received umbrellas from the County Government of Nakuru.
This is under Governor Susan Kihika’s initiative to empower riders by helping them operate in all weather conditions, ultimately improving their daily income and livelihoods.
Nakuru County Executive Committee Member for Education Zippy Wambui, area MCA John Mwangi and Chief Officers Kennedy Mungai (Environment) and Ben Sang (Trade), represented Governor Susan Kihika at the event.
Speaking during the event, the leaders stated that the move is part of Governor Kihika’s ongoing efforts to economically uplift the people of Nakuru, not just in Turi, but across the entire county.
The beneficiaries thanked the Governor, for touching the lives of many families and communities, saying the umbrellas will help them work more comfortably and add a coin to their pockets.
The event was also graced by area Ward Administrator, and the Governor’s Mashinani Coordinators.
