Omogusii Community members in Nakuru hold meeting with calls for unity

The Gusii Community members in Nakuru who trace their origin in Nyamira County have been urged to unite and have their voice count in various decision making.

This was the call by speakers during the community’s meeting at Shabab Social Hall Grounds on Sunday November 10, 2024.

In his speech, congregation lead for Omugusii in Nakuru County Mr. Jared Agisa Nyakamba reiterated the need for unity of purpose.
“In a world that is changing with numerous challenges, unity remains the strongest tool and our most reliable foundation. When we come together we build a network of mutual support, trust and shared identity,” he stated.

He added that as Omugusii people whether living in Nakuru, Nyamira or beyond, there is need for a culture of support, compassion and resilience.

According to him, the annual assembly is a tradition and shall continue with pride as testament to the community’s commitment to unity.
“Through events like these we strengthen the fabric of our community, nurturing an environment where we can all thrive,” he stated.
Sentiments echoed by Chairman of Omugusii from Nyamira in Nakuru County Benson Kiboma.
Speaking during the colourful event, he urged the community to join and ensure a united community in Nakuru.

According to him, several development agenda for members can be achieved if the community pulls together.

He pointed out numerous opportunities in various employment sectors which can be tapped into through unity of purpose.
“We have a vision and we just urge that we come together and walk together this journey and there is much that we shall achieve,” stated the Chairman.
The meeting was organized by the Board which includes; David Mongare, Gladys Nyakerario, Ronard Momanyi, Benson Gichana, Joel Miroro, Malack Okerio, Lilian Kwamboka, Job Ndege, Ruth Kemunto and Chairman Benson Kiboma.
This, even as it was revealed that the meeting shall be held annually on second Sunday of November.
