Nax Veterans Re-union Festival held with focus on strengthening hospitality sector

The first ever Nax Veterans Re-union Festival was held on Saturday October 19, and Sunday October 20, 2024.

The event held at 8TEEN LOUNGE at Kiondoo shopping centre in Lanet, brought together stakeholders in the hospitality industry.

The stakeholders were treated to nice music, nyama choma and drinks even as they exchanged ideas sharing the journey and strides made in the hospitality sector in Nakuru.

Speaking to famousnakuru.co.ke during the event, Bar, Hotel and Liquor Traders Association BAHLITA) revealed that the event will be an annual one.

“This is a new opening for the industry and we are telling our members that we are working to better the industry and this is just the beginning,” he stated.

According to Gachoka, the initiative shall be rolled down to all the 42 counties where BAHLITA has members.

He used the moment to also reiterate BAHLITA’s commitment towards ensuring that individuals out to do dirty businesses of selling counterfeit alcoholic drinks do not have room.

Gachoka noted that BAHLITA will continue to sensitize members in the Liquor industry to ensure they comply with all regulations by government.

“We are saying that as BAHLITA we have a role to sensitize our members to ensure compliance,” he said.

On the state of Liquor industry in Nakuru, Gachoka noted that in Nakuru the entertainment services have been affected in the last two years with some clubs and bars shutting down tldue to harsh economic times.

He called on those venturing into the bar industry to ensure they register with BHALITA that has over 54,000 members.

“We urge those in the industry to join our association so that we can give them guidance,” he stated.

Daniel Migide commonly known among Nakurians as Skeedo is one of the organisers of Nax Veterans Re-union Festival.

He revealed that they came together around 7 persons and came up with the idea of a come together.

An idea that was well received by BAHLITA leading to the two day event.

“We have received support from our old friends from across the country. We will continue to do this annually in all the 42 counties where BAHLITA has members,” he stated.
