Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has launched free milk Program for ECDE learners.
The program will see learners get free milk twice a week.
“Today, we officially launched a two-day per week free milk program for 41,000 pupils in our county’s Early Childhood Development Centers,” he stated.
According to Natembeya, the program aims to eliminate the shame of hunger and ensure that all learners have the nutrition they need to succeed.
It started as a pilot in 50 schools, and now, with 435 ECDE centers on board, the program is making the biggest impact yet.
The Sh70 million investment will not only boost education but also combat malnutrition in our communities.
He reiterated the need for support towards 100% transition and give learners the best chance at success.
