Nakuru Woman Rep aspirant on DCP Asumpta Wangui has condemned the vandalism and demolition that happened at Afrah Stadium on Saturday June 13, 2026.
The incident happened immediately after the launch of Nakuru Governor’s Cup 2026.
Angred individuals vandalized the iron sheets erected at the facility by contractor during the ongoing upgrade.
According to some sources, the individuals are said to have vandalized the facility makinh away with iron sheets over what they termed is lack of facilitation in terms of transport as per their expectations.
A viral video shows some individuals walking away with iron sheets that had been vandalized.
The incident has been strongly condemned by Nakuru Woman Rep aspirant Asumpta Wangui.
In a Press Release, Asumpta was categorical that she does not support such acts.
She noted that as much as she is in opposition, there is need to uphold discipline and respect public resources.
“I don’t support this government and I remain firmly in the opposition, but wrong is wrong. What happened at Afraha Stadium after the Governor’s Cup launch, where some youths walked away with mabati, is unacceptable. We can disagree politically, but we must also uphold discipline and respect for public resources. Let’s condemn wrongdoing regardless of who is in power,” she stated.
