POLITICAL PREPOSITION OF DCP NAKURU BRANCH: FIGHTS THAT WON’T END SOON

The internal wrangles within the Nakuru County branch of the Democracy for the citizens Party (DCP) have reached an alarming level, threatening the very foundation of the party’s operations in the region.
At the center of the storm are two top officials — Jane Kihara and William Wachira, infamously referred to as the “Kiambu Con.” Their rivalry and alleged misconduct have cast a long shadow over the party’s credibility and unity.
Unfortunately, issues of accountability—especially concerning finances—and the undemocratic selection of preferred candidates have taken root. There are claims of cash being exchanged under the table, with no traceable deposits made to the official party account. Instead, a few individuals appear to be milking the party machinery by demanding financial contributions from aspiring candidates.
According to my analysis, residents and potential leaders in Gilgil, Naivasha, and Subukia constituencies have grown disinterested in DCP affairs due to the dominance and monopoly of these two individuals. Alarmingly, the duo has even gone ahead to publicize a list of their preferred candidates, further alienating other members and discouraging grassroots participation.
Reliable sources suggest that even the Secretary General, Ole Nasieku, has become a target of their internal fights.
