Nakuru Gender CO Gladys Kamuren sounds stern warning to those preying on school girls

Nakuru County Chief Officer for Gender, Social Services and Inclusivity Gladys Kamuren has warned individuals messing up lives of school children. 
She noted that there is need for concerted effort at society level to ensure protection of the Welfare of learners.
Speaking at Teret High School in Mauche Ward of Njoro during a prayer day and thanksgiving ceremony, CO Kamuren pointed out that safety and ensuring prevention of harmful vices on learners is key.
She at the same time urged parents to closely monitor learners during school holiday breaks, adding that a lack of supervision leaves innocent learners exposed to threats like teenage pregnancy, substance abuse, and sexual exploitation.
Kamuren also sounded a stern warning to those preying on school girls adding that the law will soon face up with them.
She sounded zero tolerance for Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).

During the event, the Gender CO congratulated the award recipients and encouraged all students to remain focused, disciplined, hard working, and pursue their dreams with faith and determination.

She also motivated the learners and provided the girlchild with Sanitary towels to ensure they are comfortable during their exam period.

It should be noted that CO Kamuren has declared that she will be in the race for the Nakuru Woman Rep seat come 2027 general elections.
