Nakuru Deputy Governor David Kones tells off naysayers, assures of no vacuum in leadership

Nakuru Deputy Governor David Kones has told off naysayers who have been speaking negative about service delivery in Nakuru County.

Kones who is acting as Governor owing to the fact that Governor Susan Kihika is on political leave maintained that all services in Nakuru are on track.

Speaking in Nakuru Town on Wednesday during the commissioning of County Drilling Rig, the tough talking Kones who seemed not to miss his word was categorical that the County Government of Nakuru is okay and service delivery is the focus.

The DG took issue with some individuals who have been claiming that there is no service to the people.
“Some individuals have been claiming that there is no work going on but that is not true. I am always there 24/7 to ensure all the agenda of the Governor Susan Kihika are fulfilled,” he stated.
According to DG Kones, those talking about the county are just doing so that they can remain relevant and get their pay from masters who have no interest in Nakuru county and the people.
Kones noted that all the devolved functions are working and the systems are in place.
He also used the opportunity to slam those who have been talking about Governor Kihika going to USA to deliver, pointing out that those were irrelevant and disrespect to not only Governor Kihika, but mothers of this country.
The DG who was accompanied by County Secretary Dr Samuel Mwaura, Francis Njoroge from Political Office, Martin Gicinga from Governor’s office, County Executive Committee members and Chief officers among others maintained that the county departments are working closely to ensure services to the electorates.
His sentiments come barely a day after Kenya Women Parliamentarians(KEWOPA) came out strongly in defense of Governor Kihika who is on leave.
The women leaders noted Kihika besides being a leader, is a woman and mother who should be respected and allowed to enjoy her maternal leave.
