Nakuru DCP fraternity condemn harassment of one of their own in a funeral by Njoro MCA

Democracy for Citizens Party(DCP) fraternity in Nakuru County has condemned the recent harrasment on one of their own during a burial ceremony in Njoro.

The incident happened on Wednesday when Janet Moraa alias Janet Mkenya who is the Deputy Secretary of DCP Nakuru Branch was addressing mourners.

However, when she mentioned DCP Leader Rigathi Gachagua, area MCA Hezekiah Kariuki forcefully seized microphone from her.

The incident has been cited by political pundits as political intolerance.

DCP fraternity in Nakuru led by Secretary General Simon Sangale Nasieku have condemned the incident terming it disrespect to the official and the partt at large.

Nasieku stated that Kenya is a democratic country and everyone should be allowed to align with any political formation without intimidation and diacrimunation.

While noting that Janet is a youthful leader, Nasieku added that attack and intimidation on her is a clear move by opponents to silence young voices in political space.

“The attack on Janet Mkenya is uncalled for. We demand answers from the MCA why he did so. Youth should be supported in their quest to deliberate this country,” stated Nasieku.

Janet Mkenya on her part called on leaders to maintain political tolerance and respect all leaders no matter the political alignement.
