Nakuru County is leading the way in digital healthcare advancement by being one of the four counties in Kenya using Proximie technology to improve surgical skills, enhance patient care and connect with experts worldwide.
Proximie, a telepresence and content management solution, facilitates seamless collaboration between healthcare professionals, enabling the sharing of knowledge and expertise.
Speaking during shared learning and County collaboration for counties using the proximie technology meeting at the Council Of Governor’s offices in Nairobi, Deputy Governor David Kones said the platform offers a unique opportunity for medical students and professionals to observe live surgeries, participate in simulations, and learn from leading experts worldwide.
On her part, the County Executive for Health Roselyn Mungai said the County has benefited from the use of the proximie technology and is seeking to allocate more funds to expand the use of the technology for the benefit of Nakuru residents.
The meeting was chaired by Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo and representatives from the Murang’a County who are part of the Proximie community, Dr. Shannon Shibata-Germanos from Proximie, NCTRH Medical Superintendent Dr. James Waweru, representatives from COSECSA and Surgical Society of Kenya.
